Upon arrival in Uganda, you will be warmly welcomed by your professional safari guide from Nelwen Tours and Safaris, the Best Safari Company in Tanzania. After a short briefing about your 7-day adventure, you begin your scenic drive to Lake Mburo National Park.

The journey introduces you to Uganda’s beautiful countryside, passing rolling hills, small towns, banana plantations, and traditional homesteads. Along the way, your guide will share insights about Uganda’s culture, landscapes, and wildlife.

By late afternoon or evening, you arrive at Lake Mburo National Park, a peaceful savannah park known for its scenic beauty and rich wildlife. After check-in at your lodge, you can relax and enjoy the sounds of nature as the sun sets over the African wilderness.

Day 2: Game Drive and Walking Safari in Lake Mburo

Wake up early for a morning game drive when wildlife is most active. Lake Mburo is famous for its zebras, impalas, giraffes, elands, topis, warthogs, and buffaloes. Unlike larger parks, this destination offers close and relaxed wildlife viewing with fewer crowds.

Your experienced guide will help you track animals and explain their behavior, making the experience both educational and exciting.

In the afternoon, you may enjoy an optional guided walking safari. This unique activity allows you to explore the bush on foot with a ranger, giving you a closer and more intimate connection with nature. You may also spot smaller wildlife, birds, and learn about animal tracks and plants. As the day ends, return to your lodge and relax under the African sky.

Day 3: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

After breakfast, depart Lake Mburo and head toward Queen Elizabeth National Park, one of Uganda’s most diverse wildlife destinations.

The drive is one of the most scenic in the country, passing crater lakes, tea plantations, hills, and open countryside. You will have stops for photography and sightseeing along the way.

By afternoon, you arrive in Queen Elizabeth National Park and begin your first glimpse of wildlife during the drive to your lodge. Settle in and prepare for exciting safari activities ahead.

Day 4: Game Drive and Kazinga Channel Boat Cruise

Start the day with an early morning game drive across the Kasenyi plains, one of the best wildlife viewing areas in the park. This is where you may see lions hunting, elephants moving in herds, buffaloes grazing, and antelopes scattered across the savannah.

Your guide will carefully track wildlife and take you to the best viewing spots for photography and observation.

In the afternoon, enjoy a relaxing boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel, a natural waterway connecting Lake Edward and Lake George. This is one of the highlights of Uganda safaris.

During the cruise, expect close encounters with hippos, crocodiles, elephants drinking at the shore, buffaloes cooling in the water, and a wide variety of bird species. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 5: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

After breakfast, begin your journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, home of the endangered mountain gorillas.

The drive takes you through dramatic landscapes, including rolling hills, forests, and rural communities. This scenic journey offers many photo stops and cultural encounters along the way.

As you approach Bwindi, the scenery changes into dense rainforest and mist-covered mountains, creating a magical atmosphere. Arrive in the evening and check into your lodge near the forest. Rest and prepare for the unforgettable gorilla trekking experience.

Day 6: Gorilla Trekking Experience in Bwindi

Today is the most anticipated day of your safari. After an early breakfast, you proceed to the park headquarters for a detailed briefing by Uganda Wildlife Authority rangers. You will be assigned a gorilla family group and guided into the rainforest.

The trek can take between 2 to 6 hours depending on the location of the gorillas. The journey through the dense jungle is an adventure on its own, filled with birds, butterflies, and unique plant life.

Once the gorillas are found, you will spend one unforgettable hour observing them in their natural habitat. Watch them feed, play, groom each other, and interact peacefully as the silverback watches over the family. This is a rare and emotional wildlife experience that leaves a lasting memory for every traveler. Return to your lodge in the afternoon for relaxation and reflection.

Day 7: Return and Departure

After breakfast, begin your return journey from Bwindi, passing through Uganda’s scenic highlands and countryside landscapes.
