TRIP OVERVIEW

Experience the wildlife and natural beauty of Akagera National Park in just one day. This safari begins with an early morning pick-up from Kigali, followed by a scenic drive through Rwanda’s beautiful landscapes to the park.

Once inside Akagera, embark on a guided game drive to spot the park’s diverse wildlife, including elephants, lions, giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, and numerous bird species. The savannah plains, wetlands, and lakes provide stunning scenery for photography and wildlife viewing.

The tour includes a lunch break at a lodge or picnic site within the park before returning to Kigali in the late afternoon or evening. This 1-day trip offers a perfect mix of adventure, wildlife spotting, and nature appreciation for travelers with limited time.

Safari Itinerary

We will pick you up from your hotel in Kigali and drop you back at the end of the trip, or to the airport if you prefer.

On this one-day tour, you will visit Akagera National Park, exploring the park to observe wildlife in their natural habitat and enjoy the scenic beauty of the five spectacular lakes within the park.

Akagera is home to a wide variety of animals, making it an exciting reserve for wildlife enthusiasts. You can expect to see elephants, buffaloes, zebras, giraffes, and hippos in the lakes and rivers. The park also hosts 11 species of antelope, including impala, duiker, waterbuck, bushbuck, oribi, tsessebe, cape eland, and the rare sable antelope. Birdlife is exceptional, adding to the richness of the safari experience.

Your game drive will start from the southern part of the park and move northwards, exploring open plains, acacia-dotted landscapes, and wetlands, before returning to Kigali in the late afternoon or evening.
