SAFARI ITINERARY

Day 1: Arrival in Kigali & City Tour & Transfer to Volcanoes National Park

Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will be welcomed by your professional safari guide. If time allows, enjoy a short Kigali city tour, including the Kigali Genocide Memorial, local craft markets, and cultural highlights.

After the city experience, you will drive to Volcanoes National Park (Musanze), passing through beautiful rolling hills, terraced farms, and rural Rwandan villages. On arrival, check in at your lodge near the park and relax in preparation for the next day’s adventure.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking Experience in Volcanoes National Park 🦍

After an early breakfast, proceed to the park headquarters for a mandatory briefing by Rwanda Development Board rangers. Here, important rules and safety guidelines will be explained.

You will then begin your gorilla trekking adventure through the dense rainforest. Trek duration may range from 1 to 6 hours depending on gorilla movement.

Once you locate a gorilla family, you will spend one magical hour observing their behavior, social interactions, and natural lifestyle.

• No touching or feeding gorillas
• No flash photography
• Follow ranger instructions at all times

Day 3: Golden Monkey Tracking & Transfer to Nyungwe Forest

After breakfast, enjoy a golden monkey tracking experience in the bamboo forests of Volcanoes National Park. These primates are active, playful, and perfect for photography.

Later, begin your long but scenic drive to Nyungwe Forest National Park, passing through Rwanda’s tea plantations, mountains, and countryside landscapes.

Day 4: Chimpanzee Trekking & Canopy Walk Experience

Early morning, head into Nyungwe Forest for chimpanzee tracking. Unlike gorillas, chimpanzees are fast-moving and vocal, making the experience dynamic and exciting.

In the afternoon, enjoy the famous Nyungwe Canopy Walk, a suspended bridge above the rainforest offering breathtaking views of wildlife, birds, and lush greenery.

You will then be transferred to Kigali International Airport for your departure, marking the end of your unforgettable Rwanda primate safari.
