TRIP OVERVIEW

This 2-day safari offers an unforgettable wildlife adventure in Volcanoes National Park, home to endangered mountain gorillas. On the first day, you will be picked up from Kigali and transferred to the park, passing through Rwanda’s scenic rolling hills. Upon arrival, check into your lodge and relax or explore the surrounding area.

The second day is dedicated to gorilla trekking, guided by experienced park rangers. You will hike through misty forests, observing gorilla families in their natural habitat, a truly once-in-a-lifetime experience. After the trek, enjoy lunch before returning to Kigali in the late afternoon or evening.

Safari Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival and Transfer to Volcanoes National Park
You will be picked up from your hotel in Kigali early in the morning. Enjoy a scenic drive through Rwanda’s rolling hills as you head to Volcanoes National Park. Upon arrival, check into your lodge and relax, or explore the surrounding area. Overnight stay at the lodge in preparation for gorilla trekking the next day.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking and Return to Kigali
After an early breakfast, head to the park headquarters for a briefing from experienced rangers about gorilla behavior and trekking safety. Begin your gorilla trek through misty forests, hiking to find a gorilla family in their natural habitat. Spend time observing and photographing these majestic animals before returning to the park headquarters. After the trek, enjoy lunch at the lodge, then drive back to Kigali, arriving in the late afternoon or evening.
