This 2-day safari offers a perfect blend of culture, history, and wildlife in Rwanda. Begin with a guided city tour of Kigali, including a visit to the Kigali Genocide Memorial, where you will learn about Rwanda’s history and remarkable journey of recovery. You will also explore local art, fashion, and vibrant markets, experiencing the modern cultural side of Kigali.

The journey continues to Volcanoes National Park, home to the endangered mountain gorillas. The highlight of the tour is gorilla trekking, where you will hike through dense forests to observe these incredible primates in their natural habitat. This safari combines emotional history, rich culture, and unforgettable wildlife encounters, offering a unique and meaningful Rwanda experience.

Safari Itinerary

Day 1: Kigali City Tour & Transfer to Musanze
After breakfast, your driver-guide will pick you up for a city tour of Kigali. You will visit the Kigali Genocide Memorial, where you will gain insight into Rwanda’s past and its inspiring recovery. After lunch at a local restaurant, continue exploring Kigali’s vibrant culture by visiting local art and craft markets and meeting designers in the city’s growing fashion scene. You may also visit workshops to learn about the creative process and even get fitted for a custom-made outfit.

In the afternoon, drive to Musanze, the gateway to Volcanoes National Park. Upon arrival, check in at your lodge (such as Five Volcanoes Boutique Hotel) for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking & Return to Kigali
After an early breakfast, head to the park headquarters for a briefing before starting your gorilla trek. Accompanied by experienced trackers and guides, hike through the forest in search of a gorilla family. Once located, spend one magical hour observing them as they feed, play, and care for their young.

After the trek, return to your lodge for lunch and some relaxation. Later, drive back to Kigali, arriving in the late afternoon or evening, marking the end of your unforgettable 2-day Rwanda safari.
