TRIP OVERVIEW
This 2-day safari offers a perfect combination of culture and wildlife in Rwanda. The journey begins with a Kigali city tour, where you will explore key attractions such as the Kigali Genocide Memorial and local art and craft markets.
You will then travel to Volcanoes National Park, home to the endangered mountain gorillas. The highlight of the safari is gorilla trekking, where you will hike through lush forests to observe gorillas in their natural habitat. This short safari blends history, culture, and adventure, offering an unforgettable experience in Rwanda’s scenic landscapes.
Safari Itinerary
Day 1: Kigali City Tour & Transfer to Volcanoes National Park
Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will be welcomed by your driver-guide who will take you for a city tour around Kigali. You will visit places such as the Kigali Genocide Memorial and local art and craft markets. After lunch, you will drive to Volcanoes National Park (approximately 2–3 hours). Upon arrival, check in at your lodge or camp for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking & Return to Kigali
After an early breakfast at around 6:30 AM, you will head to the park headquarters for a briefing before the trek. At around 8:00 AM, begin your guided hike into the forest in search of a gorilla family. Once found, you will spend one hour observing them in their natural habitat. After the trek, return to the lodge for lunch. In the afternoon, you may enjoy a cultural performance or nature walk before transferring back to Kigali. Depending on your flight schedule, you will be dropped off at the airport.
