This 4-day Ndutu Migration safari focuses on the spectacular calving season in the Ndutu region, which occurs annually from late December through March. During this period, thousands of wildebeest give birth, drawing large numbers of predators such as lions, cheetahs, leopards, and hyenas. The result is dramatic wildlife action and some of the most exciting safari moments found anywhere in Africa.

ITINERARY

Day 1: Arusha/Moshi to Tarangire National Park

After breakfast in Arusha/Moshi, depart in a 4x4 safari vehicle toward Tarangire National Park, famous for its massive elephant herds, ancient baobab trees, and diverse birdlife. Enjoy a full game drive through the park, spotting wildlife such as lions, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, buffaloes, and many antelope species. A picnic lunch will be served inside the park. In the late afternoon, drive to your selected lodge or camp near Tarangire for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Tarangire to Ndutu (Migration Area)

Following breakfast, drive toward the Ndutu region, located between the southern Serengeti and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. This area is renowned for the Great Wildebeest Migration during the calving season from December to March. Enjoy an afternoon game drive upon arrival, with excellent chances of witnessing large herds of wildebeest and zebras, as well as predators such as lions, cheetahs, hyenas, and leopards. Dinner and overnight will be at your chosen camp or lodge in Ndutu.

Day 3: Ndutu to Ngorongoro Conservation Area

Start the day with an early morning game drive in Ndutu, when wildlife activity is at its peak. Continue exploring the plains, focusing on migration herds, newborn calves, and predator interactions. After lunch, depart for the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, enjoying scenic landscapes along the way. Arrive at your accommodation on or near the crater rim in the late afternoon, followed by dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Ngorongoro Crater to Arusha/Moshi

After an early breakfast, descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for a game drive of more than six hours. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is home to an extraordinary concentration of wildlife, including elephants, black rhinos, lions, buffaloes, hippos, zebras, and flamingos.
