OVERVIEW

This 2-day safari with Nelwen Tours and Safaris offers an exciting blend of landscapes, wildlife, and cultural richness, visiting two of Tanzania’s most unique destinations,Arusha National Park and the world-famous Ngorongoro Crater. In Arusha National Park, you will explore lush forests, scenic lakes, and open plains, with the chance to see giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, lions, Elephant and colobus monkeys, and a wide variety of birds. A guided walking safari is also possible, giving you a close-up experience with nature. On the other day you descend into the Ngorongoro Crater, home to the Big Five and one of the densest wildlife populations in Africa. Here you’ll enjoy a full game drive with incredible scenery, including flamingo-filled lakes, open grasslands, and forested slopes. This short but rich safari is ideal for travelers seeking a balanced mix of adventure, wildlife, and breathtaking landscapes in a limited time.

ITINERARY

Day 1: Arusha/Moshi to Arusha National Park

Your safari begins with a morning pickup from your hotel in Arusha/Moshi, followed by a short drive to Arusha National Park. Upon arrival, you will enjoy a game drive through the park’s diverse habitats, including lush forests, open grasslands, and tMomella Lakes, known for their diverse birdlife. Wildlife commonly seen includes giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, colobus monkeys, and many bird species. You may also enjoy a guided walking safari with a park ranger, allowing you to explore nature on foot while learning about plants, animals, and the park’s history. Afterward, you continue with an afternoon game drive before returning to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Ngorongoro Crater

The second day is dedicated entirely to the magnificent Ngorongoro Conservation Area and descend into the Ngorongoro Crater, one of the world’s most famous wildlife destinations. The crater is home to the Big Five, lion, elephant, buffalo, rhino, and leopard, as well as zebras, wildebeests, hippos, hyenas, and thousands of flamingos along the lake shores. You will enjoy a full game drive across the crater floor, stopping for a picnic lunch at a scenic viewpoint. In the late afternoon, you ascend the crater and drive back to Arusha/Moshi, arriving in the early evening, marking the end of your unforgettable safari with Nelwen Tours and Safaris.
